Rail Removal Pics sent in by Christopher Furman

Chris had sent me some great pics from his youth when the rail removal crew was working in Orillia and he has graciously agreed to have them posted for your viewing pleasure. Later in life, Chris is now working in the industry and spent two years under contract removing the old CP line between Mattawa and Smith's Falls.

A young Mr. Furman on the porch of GP40-2L(w) 9438 in Orillia, Ontario.

At the wye near the station and Midland Junction.

With the Ossawippi Express in the background, this is certainly the Mississaga St. crossing.

Another view from Mississaga St with the old CP Rail Station in the background.

At the Elgin St. crossing a supporting cast of cars between the CWR cars and head end units.

Front end of the continuous welded rail cars.

An excellent pic from the cab looking east along the right-of-way that parallels Atherley Road.
